The projection is inspired by the tarot, a set of cards used for games and fortune-telling. Commissioned in the 15th century, the Visconti-Sforza tarot deck is the first one to include major arcana and one of the oldest known to exist. The work was exhibited at the first edition of the Video Sound Art festival.

At the launch of Adidas Boost, Recipient Collective was invited to make a projection mapping on the Pirelli Tower, historical symbol of Milan and milestone in contemporary architecture. The projections also accompanied the exhibition of Thomas Dold (vertical running world champion) who raced up the stairs of the 31 floors of the skyscraper reaching the top in less than four minutes (vimeo.com/63239462), while the public was able to follow real time data on its performance on the tower facade, transformed on the occasion into a giant screen. Recipient Collective and Xiao Ke dance company have been invited by Italian curator Davide Quadrio to create a show in Suzhou, near Shanghai. The underlying theme of the show was the encounter, the influence and the mutual fascination between Chinese and European culture. Through the choreography of Xiao Ke and our visuals we tried to tell the story of how, from the legendary travels of Marco Polo, the contact between these two civilisations has been so incisive in terms of literature, art, architecture, fashion and how the fruits of that encounter in the distant past still reverberate in contemporary culture.

For the presentation of the EAT rebrand, Recipient Collective made a 180° projection mapping at the Sala D’onore of Triennale di Milano. The mapping connected the history of Triennale, related to the concepts of innovation and quality with the idea of food expressed by EAT and showed, in the form of allegory, the power of few good eating habits. In an environment dominated by a series of abstract, rigid and dark objects, some small organic shapes, inspired by nature (plants, vegetables and flowers), begin slowly to contaminate and interact with rigid bodies making them soft and colorful, suggesting that a few good habits and a little attention can generate radical positive changes. The allegorical narrative is divided into four moments, each of which represented with colors, shapes and rhythms that evoke the four seasons of the year, promoting an idea of the food strongly linked to seasonality.
